Last Minute Gift for Dad

You've still got time to whip up this special Photo Bookmark for your dad today!

 

Grab a piece of 2-inch-wide grosgrain ribbon 3 inches longer than twice the height of the book; snip a point at each end to prevent fraying. Sew a 1 1/2-inch-by-2-inch photograph to the ribbon by hand-stitching each corner. I bet he would like one of his grandkids too!  Place inside a new book and give both as the gift.  Voila!

Gift Wrap for Dad

What a clever way to wrap Dad's gift this year! 

 

Recycle his old bow ties use them as present bows.  Bow ties will fit on many small gifts.  I bet you could do this with regular neck ties too.  Especially on a wine bottle.  This would also be great for birthdays.  The tie wrapping could also double as part of the gift!

Personalized Mother's Day Gift

Here is a great and easy way to give Mom something personalized by you this Mother's Day!  

 

You'll need

• Gingham and floral craft paper (or any print you like)
• Scissors
• Paper-edger scissors
• 1 1/2" x 2" photocopied snapshot
• Chartreuse craft paper (or any color you like)
• Glue
• Candle in glass holder, 4" diam. x 5 1/2"H
• Ribbon

1. Cut 3 1/2" x 13" band of gingham and 1 1/2" x 13" band of floral paper. Trim floral band with paper edgers. Create border for snapshot by cutting 2 1/2" x 3" rectangle from chartreuse paper. Glue photo onto border.

2. Glue the floral band lengthwise onto gingham band two inches from top edge. Glue square in center of gingham band. Glue collage to candle. Tie ribbon around top edge; center bow above snapshot.

Easy Spring Craft

I'm so ready for Spring!  How about you?  Here is an easy wreath to get your home ready for the the season.  I got my original inspiration from my friends at No Fuss Fabulous with their Yarn Wreaths that I absolutely love.  Here are mine and my mom's versions!

Supplies: wreaths, butterflies, bugs, nests and some of the birds from Hobby Lobby (the rest I ordered from a wholesaler).  Ribbon, moss and "Family" from Michaels.  Glue gun and lots of glue!

Various butterflies and bugs.  I used bees and lady bugs.

Moss and "Family".  I found the "Family" in the scrapbooking section at Michaels.  I was looking for "Welcome" but had no luck.

I am thrilled with how they turned out!  What do you think?  I love my mom's little bird with the nest.  We wrapped them in ribbon first then placed everything where we wanted it then started gluing.  Both only took about an hour and a half.  Be careful, they are very fragile!  Do you decorate your house for the different seasons?  Hope this inspires you to!
